Robert Griffin III is hurting his teammates' values badly.
Robert Griffin III has not been very good this year, but now its almost embarrassing. The Redskins are 3-9 now and just aren't getting anything done. As I watched the game last night i noticed some real problems in his throws. Griffin is having a very difficult time stepping through the pass which is probably due to his knee, but some of these throws are just bad. Coming back to the topic, RG3 is destroying valuable fantasy points at this point of the season. Alfred Morris may be affected the most. Last night he was getting some work in in the first half but as soon as they got down they went to a heavy pass. Morris is an essential part of this offense and every time the Redskins get down, which is a lot, they forget about the run and is

Ray Rice or Donald Brown?
At the beginning of the season I would have been crazy for mentioning these two guys in the same sentence. But now I'm starting to sound like I know what i'm talking about. Ray Rice has just been a huge dissapointment this year for many fantasy owners. He finally snapped a 4 game streak with less than 45 rushing yards. Donald Brown on the other hand has been shocking many owners with the use of his time on the field. So we'll begin by starting with the stats.
In the last two weeks Donald Brown has averaged 4.9 yards a carry ranking 4th amongst qualified players. But he's only run with the ball 16 times? That isn't as important as touchdowns and yards though. He has had 2 touchdowns and 79 yards the last two weeks not including the game against the Titans. He is also a huge receiving threat which boosts his value immediately. In the passing game he has caught one touchdown to add to his two rushing. Ray Rice on the other hand has not been that great. Rice hadn't gotten over 100 yards all season this year until Week 11 against the Chicago Bears. He has also loss a lot of usage in the Ravens offense as well only getting over 15 carries 3 out of 10 times this year. To add to this in the last 3 weeks Donald Brown has the same amount of touchdowns as Rice has the whole season. Thats just CRAZY!
So yeah these stats help but how can we see into the future and make a decision. My first answer is drop Ray Rice for Donald Brown but with the trade deadline approaching quickly, trading Rice and then picking up Brown seems like the best option. Right now people are scrambling for running backs and with Rice coming off his best game of the year you have to sell high on him. You are likely to get someone along the lines of Jordy Nelson or even Harry Douglas who has given wide receiver hunters some one to get. But on the other hand i just don't see anyone giving Donald Brown the same kind of trade value but he does have waiver value. Take all these notes into consideration before making any moves, you have to be really careful not to dig yourself a deeper hole when trading. Remember to Follow us on twitter and keep coming back.

Who is the best WR to have before the trade deadline.
Fantasy owners all over are wondering what players to get before the trade deadline. In this article we'll talk about wide receivers to get before the deadline. There are a lot of players that seem very viable but are they going to be smart pick ups.
The first player that is a must have is Andre Johnson. With the whole Texans offensive scheme changing to a passing offense his numbers are really improving. In the last four weeks Johnson has had 5 touchdowns and 355 yards. Not bad for a guy catching balls for a rookie quarterback. He is also being targeted 31% of the time when Kase Keenum is a quarterback which means for every 4 balls thrown he gets at least 1 of those thrown at him. He is also becoming a huge red zone threat right now. In the last 4 week he has been targeted 38% of the time when in the red zone second to Calvin Johnson. So the targets and receptions are definitely there and the Texans are putting him in a great position. Another stat that is probably the most important is that he is averaging 21.8 points a game which is once again second to Calvin Johnson. I think you can get a really good deal on him and he is definitely a guy that you want to have going forward.
The second wide receiver that you must have before the trade deadline is T.Y. Hilton. Hilton has averaged 21 points the last 2 weeks except for this game against the Titans who have one of the best secondaries in the league. He is also getting targeted 10 times a game including the game against the Titans so if you are in a PPR league this is a really smart move. To add to that he has averaged 18 yards per catch and 3 touchdowns, not including the Titans game. Not bad for a guy that has been a Flex play all season, but with Reggie Wayne out, he's the guy Luck looks for downfield. I wouldn't worry about his performance against the Titans but it is definitely a great time to buy low on him.You could trade someone like Zac Stacy or Chris Johnson for him or possibly do a package deal depending on the size of your league.
The final wide receiver to go get is Kendall Wright. This is very surprising to most of you because he doesn't even play with a great quarterback but he is a huge part of that offense. This week he was targeted 43% of the time. When Ryan Fitzpatrick is in at quarterback this guy is lighting it up. With Locker out for the rest of the season his fantasy value has skyrocketed. He did not get a touchdown against the Colts but those will come when they get a good matchup. Chris Johnson's 2 touchdown game was really just a fluke but it may work to your advantage. If people are trying so hard to get him now but Kendall Wright will be the guy to own on the Titans by the end of the season. The schedule is looking a lot better for the passing game than the running game which is why i have such a strong belief that this is the man to get. Most leagues he is probably on the waiver wire but in deeper leagues this guy will be a steal and is a must own.

Rodgers Out? Wallace Out? What Are The Other Player's Values?
The loss of Aaron Rodgers is devastating for Packers fans and even more devastating for fantasy owners. Rodgers was a key part of each viable fantasy player on the Packers including the defense. So the question people are asking all around the league is, who is Scott Tolzien?
Well, Tolzien was a member of the practice squad and was just put on the roster after Rodgers was out. He isn't an awful quarterback he showed he could become a decent quarterback and have a solid fantasy run. But, he isn't a guy that is helping any fantasy owners. His week 10 stats: 280 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. That should explain a lot about this guy. To relate him to another starter i would say he ressembles Mike Glennon in the fact that they aren't willing to let him throw a ton and that he will throw 1 or 2 touchdowns and 1 to 2 interceptions a game. So saying that he resembles Glennon he obviously has a go-to guy. That guy is going to be Jarret Boykin. Boykin has been a great fill in for Randall Cobb, in the last game he had 8 receptions for 112 yards. So it's pretty obvious that's going to be the guy with the most value. But he isn't the only one.
Jordy Nelson is another player that will be a go-to guy on the Packers. He is a guy kind of like Wes Welker where he may not get a lot of yards but he will get touchdowns. The Packers want to give him the ball and Tolzien will have to rely on his most dependent receivers. Another point to make is that with Jermichael Finley out It opens the door for guys who get in open space like Nelson and Boykin.
Eddie Lacy will be effected the most by this quarterback situation. The opponents are going to stop him because this is the other player besides Rodgers that has be stopped to get the ball back. He had 24 carries for 73 yards against the Eagles, Not so great for 24 carries. They do have a nice schedule coming up for the rest of the seson which gives him a lot more upside. I still think all these guys will hold their value but the guy to be nervous about is Eddie Lacy. I also want to add that the defense will be on the field more and until Rodgers comes back i wouldn't start their defense even though they have a few favorable match ups. Manning's Weapons. Are They Consistent?
Peyton Manning is obviously the best quarterback in the NFL. But his receivers are among the best in the NFL but doesn't that decrease their value if there are four of them(Thomas, Welker, Decker, and J. Thomas)? Of course it decreases their value a bit but each WR is good in a specific area. Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker get yards more consistently and Wes Welker and Julius Thomas get more touchdowns. But we're going to discuss each players value including Knowshon Moreno and Manning himself.
We'll start off with Peyton Manning who has been unstoppable in fantasy. Manning's least amount of yards in a game this year is 295 which is 11 fantasy points in standard leagues. He's also thrown for 34 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. So Manning is obviously producing but in the next 4 weeks, he is facing some of the best passing defenses in the league and with his injury it may become scary for a few weeks. If you own him i would start him against the Chiefs and if he is stopped by them i would find another QB like Terrelle Pryor to start in week 13.
Knowshon Moreno is next on the list. Moreno has been one of the finest running backs this year but isn't running as much as you think. He has not had a game with 100 rushing yards and hasn't had a game with over 100 yards receiving. So if you own him you are relying very heavily on touchdowns which has worked out great so far but about to come to an end against the Chiefs. For some one that hasn't had a lot of yards and shares a little bit of time with other running backs it isn't looking very good but after week 13 he should get back on track and perform as good as ever for the fantasy playoffs. It is a great time to buy low on him after this week and sell high right now.
Julius Thomas is the first of the receivers to get in the mix. Thomas has been excellent for the lack of good TE's this year. He has had 9 touchdowns and 2 games with over 100 receiving yards. He has been fantasy gold throught this year and will remain a top TE each week. With 3 other Top receivers against the Chiefs and Patriots he should be Manning's go-to guy for three weeks. That is one of the best feelings t have when you own Manning's go-to guy. If you got him to back up Gronk you should definitely sell high on him for a Top 20 RB or WR.
Next is Eric Decker who has been great one week and not so great the next. Decker is not as effective with Welker and J. Thomas in the offense and it has showed the past few weeks. I personally don't think he is a good player to start on a regular basis but if he's al you got just go with it. But if you can get another guy you should highly consider guys like Torrey Smith and Steve Smith to get a little more insured on quality fantasy points. Decker is really just a Flex player and should be traded if you own him. But i will say this about Decker, he is really good against those middle of the pack defenses which is great for the last two weeks so try to snag him for those last two weeks of the fantasy playoffs.
Demaryius Thomas, Peyton's mid-field man. Thomas has had 9 touchdowns this year and will definitely get more. He is a really good yards and receptions player but the touchdowns are very inconsistent. Over the last 3 games he looks to have steadied those out and moved up the rankings. But I'm hesitant to say that he'll dominate the last few weeks of the regular fantasy season. The chiefs just don't let up midfield yards a lot and they let receivers like Welker get more points because of the red zone threat. And against the patriots, Talib will just stop Thomas and players like Julius Thomas are going to be fantasy gold.
Lastly is Wes Welker. Welker has been one of the most consistent WR's the entire year but i worry about the game against the patriots. The Patriots know Welker way to well for him to have the same numbers he's been putting up. I wouldn't worry about the Chiefs matchup, with Kansas City stoping him with a linebacker for the most part but i wouldn't expect him to exceed 15 points or go under 8. For the rest of the year he is going to be a Top 10 WR and potentially Top 5. He's also a player to buy low on after this week and the fact that they play San Diego again in Week 15.
So all of the players on the Broncos have their issues but at the end of the day 5 out of 6 are Top 10 at their position. If you have any of these players you haven't been that disappointed all season and are probably doing well. Thanks for reading and come back for more throughout the season.

Are Nick Foles and Tony Romo Almost The Same?
Nick Foles has just tied an NFL record for passing touchdowns in a game. If you started him this week you are probably satisfied and bragging about it too. But the question is wether or not he can keep it up. We saw earlier in the season Tony Romo struggle a little bit after his big game against the Broncos. But Foles has already had another big game earlier in the year. Are they the same? Are they different? Find out what to expect here.
Nick Foles has really separated himself from the other Quarterbacks on the Eagles so i think he'll remain the starter. Now we're going to look at the numbers that tell the truth. Both Quarterbacks have a 101 quarterback rating so that tells us that they are both similar "NFL" QBs but not necessarily "Fantasy" QBs. Another stat that i like to look at is yards per game. Tony Romo is averaging 277 yards a game which is about 11 fantasy points in standard leagues. Nick Foles is averaging 205 yards per game but he was injured in a game when he was 3/4 for 49 yards. But if you look at their consistency you'll see that Romo comes out on top. The next stat is touchdowns per game. Foles is averaging 2.6 TDs a game which screams fantasy points in all leagues. Romo is averaging 2 TDs a game. Take those two averages and Rmo has 19 fantasy points and Foles is 20 (if you round 2.6 to 3). This just proves that both QBs are very similar but who would you start the rest of the year?
This is a very tough call for fantasy purposes. I lean toward starting Nick Foles because of the offense he runs. Then i lean toward Tony Romo because i think he'll be more consistent. But to answer the question I would start Tony Romo because of his really good schedule and the return of Demarco Murray. As I've written earlier i said Tony Romo is a Top 10 QB the rest of the way and I'm standing by my word. I also think Nick Foles is going to be a Top 13 QB the rest of the season. Tony Romo is still better from a fantasy perspective and that will give him an edge the rest of the season. So there you have it, both QB are similar but Romo is still the better Quarterback.

Week 6 Preview. Kickers (due to website difficulties no RB preview, sorry)
Most of you are probably wondering why kickers are on of our previewed positions this week and the answer is simple, these are the players that win fantasy games. Fantasy kickers are very hard to decipher and find out who consistently gets the most points and that's what this preview is about for our kickers preview. As for our Running Back preview we will once again talk about player to watch for and get now.
Kickers are not really given a lot of credit in fantasy and not talked about much either. Surprisingly there is much to talk about and players to watch for. When looking at kickers you want to get a guy whose team scores a lot or gets into scoring position so our first player is Blair Walsh. Walsh is one of the best kickers there is and is very underrated. I recommend trying to get this guy in a trade because the Vikings are a team that get into field goal range a good bit and Walsh has one of the most accurate legs in the league right now as well. He is a must own player for low value and is a must start this week. Next is Steven Hauschka. He is in my opinion the best kicker overall. This is a guy who is owned in only 55% of ESPN standard leagues and should be owned in 100%. He has averaged 10.8 points a week in standard scoring leagues and is 2nd in his position. The Seahawks are a very high scoring team that does kick a good bit of long field goals which is great for fantasy purposes. If you have the opportunity to get this guy do it because he is a top 3 kicker and is always a must start. Lastly we have Ryan Succop for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have really turned around this team and with that their kicker is becoming a much better fantasy kicker. Succop is the 11th ranked kicker right now based on total scoring and has really good value. He is only owned in 17% of ESPN standard leagues right now but I look for that to change soon. The Chiefs are gettin better and better on offense and that only leads to more success for him. He is only a start this week because of his rank and opponent this week and you can expect a solid 9 or 10 points from him.

Tony Romo's Shocking Fantasy Performance and Michael Vick
Tony Romo had one of the best fantasy performances this year with 506 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 1 interception. This has people wondering, is Tony Romo a top 5 or 10 fantasy quarterback? The answer to that question is top 10 for now. Romo is not known for his consistency in fantasy and now is raising a question of wether or not he is a top fantasy quarterback. For me it's simple, Tony Romo is a good fantasy quarterback but he isn't elite yet. He has consistently thrown over 200 yards a game this year and has thrown a touchdown in every game as well. The most important stat for guys like Tony Romo and Philip Rivers is interceptions. Romo only has 2 this entire year so far. Romo does have a very good schedule for fantasy as well playing bad pass defenses like Washington and the New York Giants. This is good news for people who own Romo. In a standard scoring league i look for Romo to be just over 20 points per game. He does play the Bears and Green Bay but he is a starting fantasy QB the rest of the year. He can also be used in trade packages for a position you are struggling with. For example, I would propose a trade for maybe Russell Wilson and a player that ranks in the top half of his position.
Michael Vick is next on our agenda for this article. Vick has off and on this season and with his hamstring injury he could lose fantasy value fast. For a guy who likes to run the ball and is averaging 61.4 yards a game this kills his fantasy value. But when Vick is healthy and in a good matchup he can do some serious damage for fantasy purposes. Vick had a great game against San Diego with over 400 yards and 3 touchdowns he convinced fantasy owners he was for real but now he has slowly worked his way down to low fantasy points. In fantasy leagues Vick can be traded instantly. If you own him put him in a trade package and get another player that will help you and if you don't own him and need a QB he a good player to get that won't be so difficult now. Lastly if Vick is your only QB and your in a 12 or 16 person league you may be able to work a deal for a low end QB1 or high QB2 player like Terrelle Pyror. Thanks for reading our article and keep coming back for more fantasy information. For question email us at [email protected] or find us on twitter or Facebook.
Week 5 Preview. Running Backs and Wide Receivers (WR preview will come out later)
After Week 4 you probably have a good idea of where your fantasy team is and where you are struggling. So we thought the RB and WR positions are probably what is troubling you. There are some top players that were high draft picks that are struggling now but give them time. This leads us to our main previewed position, Running Back.
For our RB position we took four players that are either underrated or overrated to this point in the season. The first over rated RB is Doug Martin. This is a guy that is continually disappointing fantasy teams. He hasn't been awful but he was probably drafted way to early based on his performance. He's only scored 1 rushing touchdown this year and a total of 342 yards. This is looking like a good RB2 fantasy player now but give him time. This is a team that has to go back to the run to have a chance at winning games. I recommend keeping him but if the opportunity comes for a better player at a better position trade him. Now were going to discuss Giovani Bernard. This is a guy who is going to continually get more plays as weeks move on. He is definitely underrated only because he isn't a commonly known guy. He's going to end up having a similar situation like Doug Martin did last year. He'll be underrated at first and by the end of the season will be a top 12 RB. He is a must start only because of his ability to make plays. He is a lot quicker than Green-Ellis which will eventually lead to getting about 85% of the carries. Next is Ray Rice. Rice is easily the best player on that offense and is a weapon in the red zone. He only got 5 carries last week which is unheard of for a team like that. The Ravens know that he has to be more involved so don't give up on him yet. If you don't have him this is the time to get him. He is a must start this week. He is playing the Dolphins who were destroyed by Sproles who is a similar type of RB. Lastly were going to talk about Trent Richardson, a guy that i love for fantasy. He is in a great situation at Indianapolis. They need a running back that can be explosive inside the redzone and a power/speed back. Even though he is playing Seattle this week he will still be a start. More than likely a RB2 or low RB1. The Seahawks let up a lot of points against Foster who is very similar to Richardson so expect a solid performance out of him this week.
Our next previewed position is WR's. There have been plenty of disappointments but there have been a lot of overlooked players. We'll give you three underrated players to look for and that will make an impact on your team. First we'll start with Nate Washington. Washington has slowly crept his way up the rankings and will continue to do so but with Jake Locker gone for a few weeks his status may fall but not for long. I recommend picking this guy up as a flex player for this week only because of the absence of Jake Locker. He can also be a good player to trade. His value is increasing at a good rate and he isn't a must start but he could be a starter at WR2 or Flex. Next is Alshon Jeffery. Most people you talk to have never heard of him and don't know what team he plays for. Jeffery is a great fantasy player and will have great value. He is consistently getting targets and will get more because of the double coverage on Brandon Marshall each week. He had a breakout week last week but it wasn't a fluke. This guy is a must start against a not so great New Orleans secondary so you should definitely go after him. Lastly i want to talk about Kenbrell Thompkins for the New England Patriots. Thompkins is looking like a good target for Brady. Brady has no one right now that is really good and this guy is as close as Brady will see for a few weeks. Amendola may return this week so his value may drop but hold on to him. If Amendola does play he isn't a must start but if Amendola doesn't start he is a must start. Week 4 Preview (we are trying a new preview format, please give us feedback through the blog, email, twitter, or Facebook)
Week 3 gave us the reality of most players with great starts. We saw that Philip Rivers is on and off. Then we saw Eddie Royal fall off. I'm not saying he's a bad player, i'm just saying he's not a fantasy must have. Then we saw Cameron have an outstanding week proving he is a good fantasy player.
For our QB preview we're going to talk about Mike Vick, Robert Griffin III, and Alex Smith. Ill start with Vick, he has been a very solid fantasy QB in a 10 team league. Other than that he is a back up. But I will say he will be a starting QB in almost all leagues by the end of the season. You have to remember that he played Andy Reid who knew everything you need to know about him last week, but I would hold off on his start this week against the Broncos. RG3 on the other hand is just struggling to get back into form. He had a rough week against the lions but other than that has been a great fantasy QB if you drafted him early. I look for his performance to keep getting better and I think he'll be ranked ahead of Vick by the end of the year. He is still a starting QB in fantasy. Lastly we have Smith, he has been really good this year and I think his key to fantasy success has been with his legs. He is getting great yards on the ground and that's going to keep his fantasy ranking a little higher. He is a starter in leagues with 10 to 12 people, but a back up in leagues with less. Our next, and last, previewed position is going to be at tight end.
For our TE preview were gonna start with the success of Jordan Cameron. He showed last week he is a good player and should be on a roster in every fantasy league. He got the second most points as a TE last week behind Jimmy Graham. He is a must start this week. Next we're going to talk about Julius Thomas, he is the real deal. This Broncos offense is perfect for a Tight End with his ability and he is going to remain in the top 5 in the TE category. He too is a must start, and if you don't have him try to get him. Also if you drafted Kyle Rudolf then you are definitely disappointed in his year. I recommend keeping him as a back up or dropping him. Thanks for reading our preview and we hope this helps your team. Make sure to give us feedback on our new style.

The affect of Trent Richardson leaving the Browns to the Colts
One of the most interesting trades in a long time. Trent Richardson, the third draft choice is going to the Colts. This move affects a lot of players fantasy values. I'll start with Ahmad Bradshaw. Bradshaw had a great performance last week getting about 15 points depending on your league. He had finally proven that he could be trusted in the backfield when Richardson is traded. I think Bradshaw will still get carries while Richardson learns the offense but i recommend dropping Bradshaw because he has very little fantasy value now. Next, this move will hurt Luck and his receivers for a while because they will give Richardson more carries because Bradshaw was never really proven. So if you have Luck or any Colts receivers i recommend holding on to them because by about week 5 or 6 Richardson's position will be set and it will open up the offense. Also this move will really affect the Brown's passing game. They are not sure on the QB position which will affect players like Jordan Cameron who have been playing very well. It could go either way with his value it depends on what kind offense the Browns are looking at using. With the addition of Brian Hoyer it seems like they may be getting rid of Weeden and trading for another draft position. So if you have Cameron I'm going to tell you to not start him and possibly drop or trade because he does have value. Come back later this week for a Week 3 Preview and more rankings will be coming out. We definitely recommend looking at the QB rankings and asking questions on our blog.
Week 2 Recap
What an exciting Week 2. This was a week where we got to see players prove themselves that they are good enough for fantasy purposes. We'll start off with Phillip Rivers who had a great Week 1 and showed he could follow it up. Rivers threw for three touchdowns all to WR Eddie Royal who is becoming a question in fantasy. Other players like Colin Kaepernick and Peyton Manning slowed down a little bit. But both QB's played very good pass defenses. They shouldn't be knocked for their performances but still disappointed many owners. Also we saw a great comeback from Arian Foster after a very poor week. For the most part we had a pretty predictable week and our Rankings for this year so far will be coming out soon. You definitely dont want to miss out on this helpful fantasy tool. We will be giving top 15 for every position and if you have any questions email us at [email protected] or find us on Facebook or Twitter. Keep coming back everyday for more info to get you an edge in fantasy football.
Week 2 Preview
After one of the most exciting Week 1's its hard to follow up. This is going to be redemption week for players like Calvin Johnson and Robert Griffin III. We'll start at the QB position. Peyton Manning is on track to have another great week so dont worry about him following up. If you have Mike Vick i highly recommend starting him only because of how many plays he is able to run. At the RB position we were wowed by Reggie Bush and his performance but dont expect him to have another game like that against the Cardinals Defense. And if you have a rookie running back this year dont expect a big game this week from any of them. Lastly if you have Trent Richardson expect a huge numbers this week. They will be giving him at least 20 carries and that only means big numbers. At the WR position your probably disappointed in a few of your top WRs. So this week you need to go after players like Garcon, James Jones, and Sidney Rice. These are players on passing teams and will come up big in fantasy this week. And our last position we'll talk about TE. We were shocked by Jordan Cameron's 108 yard and TD game so a lot of people picked him up. But that wont happen again for a while. Jimmy Graham had a quality week last week but he didnt really stand out. I still think that he is a top TE but make sure you get a back up. The last player i want to talk about is Julius Thomas. He had an amazing week 1 and you can expect that throughout the season. With the Broncos running game in rough shape they will be going to the air a lot more so you should definitely pick him up. Make sure to check our website on Wednesday for a recap and if you have any questions ask us on our blog.
Key Position This Year
We're finnaly getting in fantasy mode. This year we believe the Tight End position will be the most important. With Gronkowski and Hernandez gone for the year your choices are limited. That leaves Jimmy Graham for the best Tight End this year. So we've come to help you out and give you an advantage. The best time to pick up a TE this year is going to be 2nd or 3rd round depending on the size of your league. I would say 1 is Jimmy Graham, 2 is Tony Gonzales, and 3 is Jason Witten. Tony Gonzales is going to be one of those players that will get better as the year progresses so a trade mid season for him could be possible if you dont get him. Witten is going to get you your typical 5-12 points every week but i think Graham and Gonzales are your best two choices. You can also try getting two really good TE's and trade for a player that could impact your team. Keep coming back for more information to get ahead.

Super Bowl Recap
What a great and exciting Super Bowl we had this year. Ill start by saying that the Baltimore Ravens started off hot. At the end of the first half the score was 28-6. This proves that the Ravens were the dominant team. But in the second half the 49ers had everything going their way. Then in the last minutes they couldn't score on a 1st and goal. I will say that the last play the Ravens were holding and i think Crabtree could have gotten it. But you can't blame the loss on that play but instead on the weak first half. I think Colin Kaepernick will stay the 49ers QB and i'm not yet sure about Alex Smith's future. On the other hand the Ravens played fantastic and Joe Flacco has proved to be a franchise quarterback. With 297 yards and 3 touchdowns he received the MVP award. I also want to talk about Jacoby Jones. This guy all throughout the year has really been a special teams threat. Without him i don't think the Ravens would have won just because of the touchdown and the field position he gives his team. Also Ray Lewis was able to go out on a great win and i think we are all happy for him. So i think we need to watch out for both of these teams next year and i think we have seen some great players emerge and could possibly be big time fantasy players. So that wraps up the Super Bowl and be sure to visit our website Friday for the top 20 of each position rankings. this is a must see to have an advantage next year in your league.
Super Bowl Preview and Prediction
We finally got to the big game, and what a match up we have. This game will be very close and i think low scoring. Ill start with the San Francisco 49ers. For them in this game its all going to come down to how productive the read option is. If Colin Kaepernick gets over 100 yards and 1 touchdown i definitely think they will win. But if they aren't successful it's all going to come down to Vernon Davis. Davis needs to step up as well if the 49ers are going to win. He is definitely going to be double teamed in the passing game because of his ability to make big plays and especially since he had a huge Conference Championship game. Defensively i think the 49ers will have their hand full. They will be dealing with Rice, Flacco, Smith, and watch out for Pitta. They will need to make sure Ray Rice does not get into open field or has a chance because of his ability make things happen. So i think the 49ers have a few things to make sure they do and if they do them they will win. Now on to the Ravens. For this team to win Joe Flacco must play good and definitely cant afford an interception. Also Ray Rice needs to prove he is a top RB. But its all going to come down to the defense. Ray Lewis is going to have to make every tackle possible and not get confused by the read option. With that being said. I predict the winner of the Super Bowl is going to be the San Francisco 49ers. The score will be 24-17 and the MVP is Colin Kaepernick. I say this because the ravens have never seen this kind of offense and will be very confused. So keep checking the website for a Recap as well as our top 100 fantasy football players for next year. Also make sure to adjust your Playoff Challenge line up.
Pro Bowl Recap
What an exciting game the Pro Bowl was. We saw some fantastic plays as well as moments. Ill start first with the AFC players. For them Andrew Luck came out and threw for over 200 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Not bad for a rookie quarterback. Peyton Manning and Matt Schaub also had good games but didn't play as much. Rushing wise Jamaal Charles led the way with 12 yards on 3 attempts. The AFC only ran the ball 11 times because the were trying to comeback and win the game. The wide receivers did a great job with A.J. Green leading the pack. He caught 7 passes for 119 yards and 3 touchdowns. Josh Cribbs, Demaryius Thomas, and Wen Daniels also had good games for the AFC. Defensively the AFC did not play well obviously allowing 62 points and only getting 1 interception. But Derrick Johnson had a good game with 6 tackles and a pic 6 which is very impressive in this game. For the NFC things went pretty well. Russel Wilson had a great game throwing for 98 yards and 3 touchdowns only throwing 10 passes. Eli Manning and Drew Brees also had great games. For the NFC they were a little more successful on the ground with Marshawn Lynch getting 4 attempts for 21 yards and a touchdown. But they only ran the ball 27 times. The wide receivers on the other hand got a lot of action. Kyle Rudolph had 5 receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown. Vincent Jackson had 2 touchdowns, Larry Fitzgerald and Victor Cruz had one touchdown. Also Doug Martin, another rookie, had a touchdown. Defensively the played well with 3 interceptions and only allowing 35 points against the best of the AFC, But the moment that every one will be talking about is Jeff Saturday snapping the ball to his QB that he snapped it to most of his career, Peyton Manning. They were not on the same team but this was saturdays last game and he wanted to make it special. What a way to end your career. The MVP of the Pro Bowl was Kyle Rudolph, TE from the MInnesota Vikings. Some people are debating wether or not it sh
Senior Bowl Recap
In this years Senior Bowl we definitely saw some players stand out. Ill start of with EJ Manuel, QB for Florida State playing for the South. Manuel was 7-10 and 76 yards with a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown. He definitely put him self in the top 3 in QB's for this years draft. On the North team we had QB Zac Dysert. from Miami (OH). Dysert went 10-16 93 yards a touchdown and an interception. He too made a name for himself and helped his draft position. Rushing wise, Johnathan Franklin had 41 yards and a touchdown. Franklin definitely could be a second round draft pick and could possibly be a starter depending on what team he is taken by. Also Stephan Taylor had a solid game with 53 yards proving he can be a consistent RB. Now on to Kenjon Barner, a RB from Oregon. Barner had a great receiving game with 59 yards and a touchdown. So don't be surprised if he is getting some playing time next year in the NFL. Another good WR performance was by Michael Williams, TE from Alabama. He had 39 yards and a touchdown. I personally think this guy will be a top 15 draft choice and will be a great fantasy player if drafted by the right team. Also Denard Robinson, WR from Michigan who we talked about in our last article, had an okay game. He had 21 yards on 2 receptions. So after this game i think the NFL scouts were impressed by some performances. This years draft really doesn't have a dominant QB but you never know what a team is looking for. So the final in this game was 21-16 with the South team winning. So make sure to keep checking the website and next week we will have a Pro Bowl preview and a Pro Bowl Contest.
Rookie QB's Next Year
In the upcoming draft the most focused on position is the QB. Unfortunately there really is no stand out QB. I would consider the top two Geno Smith and Matt Barkley. But there really is no number 1, it just depends on what the team is looking for and how desperate they are for one. If you asked me i would say that Matt Barkley has a good chance of being a solid NFL QB. Barkley threw for 3272 yards and 36 touchdowns, but he got injured so stats could have been better. He also had a cmp% of 63.6, a lot lower than last year. Also I think he could play in multiple types of offenses unlike Geno Smith who is use to a throwing offense which is why his stats are so high. Smith threw for 4205 yards and 42 touchdowns with a 163.9 rating. But the best thing about him is his cmp% at 71.2 which would be great to have on an offense and also the fact that he threw only 6 interceptions. So I would consider this race very close. Also consider Ryan Nassib, QB for the Syracuse Orange. He does not throw as many passes as Smith but a good bit. He threw for 3749 yards and 26 touchdowns. But his cmp% was 62.4 which may hurt him going into the draft so he will definitely have to play good there to get in the race with Smith and Barkley. The Senior Bowl is going to be a great time for some QB's to shine, and with no Smith or Barkley they can really get in the race. But a shocker is Denard Robinson from Michigan. He will be a Wide Receiver instead of QB, but dont be surprised if he is moved to a DB because of his size and speed. Make sure to watch the Senior Bowl or at least some of it and keep coming to the website for polls on the Senior Bowl.
Conference Championships Recap
What a weekend this was in the NFL. Ill start by talking about the 49er vs. the Falcons. The Falcons looked like they were going to win but it was a great second half comeback by the 49ers. Colin Kaepernick had a solid game, not as good as last week, throwing for 233 yards and 1 touchdown. Matt Ryan had a good game with 396 yards and 3 touchdowns and 2 of those were to Julio Jones. This was a terrible second half for the Falcons who started off so hot in the first half. Next its the Patriots vs. the Ravens. This was a great defensive game by the Ravens only allowing 13 points. Not only that but they took advantage of turnovers and won the game. Joe Flacco once again has played great with 240 yards and 3 touchdowns. This game was really won by the defense though with Ray Lewis leading the way. So this week had some pretty close match ups and now we're on the Super Bowl. But first its the Pro Bowl so keep visiting the website and twitter for information. We will be closely looking at the Pro Bowl and making predictions. So just remember to keep on checking the website.
What Makes The Read Option So Effective?
The read option is more of a college style offense but has made its way to the NFL. It started with Robert Griffin III, this was a perfect fit. The Redskins have taken Griffin's speed and used it to run this offense. The reason it works so well is because it fakes the defense. As we saw all throughout the season he and Alfred Morris were able to see the defense and adjust accordingly. So as soon as the quarterback snaps the ball he is first going to look at the linebackers and either hand the ball of or keep it. Another team that ran this was Seattle. Russell Wilson did a great job but this play was not run as much. Seattle could have done the same thing Washington did because Marshawn Lynch is a great running back. This is why the Wildcard game against these two teams was a great one to watch. Lastly is the 49ers. Colin Kaepernick made this offense so difficult to stop. Kaepernick has played very smart when running this play and has dominated defenses like we saw against Green Bay. So back to the read option. What happens in the read option is that they will line up in the shotgun. Once the QB snaps it he looks for the outside linebacker. From here he sees where he's going and will hand it off if he knows the linebacker is going for him. But if the LB isn't, the quarterback will keep it and will get easy yards that could have been stopped. We are going to see a lot more of this after the success of the teams that do. Make sure to keep visiting the website throughout the week. Good luck.
Conference Championships Preview
This week in the Conference Championships round we will see great match ups. Ill start with the New England Patriots vs. the Baltimore Ravens. In this game well be paying close attention to the Ravens defense led by Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. What this game will come down to is the Ravens ability to stop the Patriots offense, which the Texans couldn't do in the regular season or playoffs. So the Ravens will have to play a lot of zone defense to stop the Patriots from making big plays. Another key to this game is Joe Flacco. His performance will determine the outcome of this game which is surprising because you would think it would be Ray Rice. The reason it is Joe Flacco is because of the Patriots ability to stop a good bit of runs at the line of scrimmage. But from a fantasy standpoint Ray Rice is a good player to pick. The Ravens will definitely give him the ball and definitely will score a touchdown or two. On the Patriots hand, players like Tom Brady, Stevan Ridley, and Wes Welker are must starts. Tom Brady will have a fairly easy time getting the ball to his receivers because of the weakness on the Ravens Corner Backs. This is definitely going to be a close game and a must watch. Now on to the 49ers vs. the Falcons. When you think of the 49ers at this point of the season, you think about Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick is an explosive player playing a very unfamiliar style of offense. The Falcons are going to have a very difficult time stopping Kaepernick's passing game as well as running game. Just like the Ravens they will definitely be playing a zone defense just trying to contain the quarterback. On the other side of the ball the Falcons offense will have to be almost perfect. The O-line is going to have its toughest matchup of the year trying to protect Matt Ryan. I think this game will be won by special teams. I say this because it is such an equal matchup that it will come down to field position and kicking. If your worried about your fantasy picks I suggest adding Kaepernick, both Falcons receivers, and 49ers defense. You really cant go wrong with the 49ers defense, they are just too good to not start. So just remember to keep checking the website for help because on Thursday the rankings will be released. But if you cant decide who to choose from that go to our blog, Twitter, or Facebook to ask. Good luck this week and choose wisely.
Divisional Round Recap
What an exciting weekend in the NFL. I'll start by talking about the Denver Broncos vs. the Baltimore Ravens. This was the 4th longest game in NFL history. But on the other hand there were some great fantasy performances. I'll start with Ray Rice who had 131 yards and a touchdown, very solid performance. The biggest surprise of the game was Joe Flacco's 331 yards and 3 touchdowns against the 2nd ranked defense leading his team to victory. Flacco might have saved his spot as the starting quarterback in Baltimore. Other good performances Manning 290 yards 3 touchdowns. Hillman 83 yards. Next we talk about the Packers vs. 49ers game. San Francisco had a great game but was overshadowed by Colin Kaepernick's great performance. Kaepernick passed for 263 yards plus 2 touchdowns and 181 rushing yards plus 2 touchdowns. He definitely led his team to a big win over the Packers who fell just short of making it to the Conference Championship. Good Performances: Rodgers 257 yards and 2 touchdowns, Jones 87 receiving yards and a touchdown. Now we head to the Seahawks and Falcons game. Seattle played very poorly on both sides of the ball in the first 3 quarters but turned it around in the 4th. Although they fell short of the win they show great hopes for next year. We had great performances by both QB's in this game. Wilson had 385 yards and two touchdowns as well as a rushing touchdown. Ryan, who had his first playoff victory, threw for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns. Zach Miller had a great game with 152 receiving yards and a touchdown. This game was very exciting and came down to a game winning drive by Matt Ryan. Now on to the last game of the Divisional Round, Texans vs. Patriots. Tom Brady had a great game with 344 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Texans just couldn't stop the Patriots high powered offense. Both running backs had great games for both teams. The final score was 41-28, Patriots. This was one of the most exciting weekends of football all year and we have great match ups in the Conference Championships. Keep visiting the website and we will have the Conference Championships Preview on Wednesday.
Divisional Round Keys
This week in the fantasy Playoff Challenge is going to be a tough one. The key to success is the QB. There are plenty of good quarterbacks to choose from but you have to pay attention to who they are playing. I think a really good QB to choose is Peyton Manning. He will be playing the Baltimore Ravens whose secondary has been struggling throughout the regular season. You can expect a 20+ point game from him just based on the Ravens secondary. As we move on to the RB position you need to look at how the player played in their last game as well as what defense they are playing. So with that being said it is not a safe move to start a RB against the Broncos or the Seahawks. For two good Running Backs i would go with Arian Foster and Marshawn Lynch. For the WR position it is a little bit more easier. For this position its really just pick your favorite. But look out for injuries and how the opposing teams secondary is playing. I Believe a safe choice for WR's are Andre Johnson and Demaryius Thomas. For the TE position it is so much easier than last week. With Gronkowski and Davis back in the mix you can get a lot more points than you did last week. Although Owen Daniels had a solid week in the Wild Card round he might not be as open facing a better secondary. So a safe pick is obviously Rob Gronkowski. The Kicker position is all based on defense. If the opposing team's defense is really good i would start that kicker only because they wont be scoring as many touchdowns. For the Defense position its really just a toss up because at this point all the offenses are good. But if you really need help choose the defense playing the worst QB and WR's. So this wraps up the keys to Divisional Round success. Remember choose your players wisely.
Ray Lewis Retiring
Ray Lewis is an NFL superstar after playing at The University of Miami and being selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round. Ray has won the Defensive Player of the Year 2 times, 2000 and 2003. Ray got the Super Bowl MVP and was the second linebacker to win it. He has also been selected for the pro bowl 13 times in a 17 year career with the Ravens. With these accomplishments it is easy to say Ray Lewis will be in the Hall of Fame and will be remembered as one of the greats at the linebacker position. Although Ray Lewis was injured most of the 2012 season he still managed to play like an all-time great. Ray has had an outstanding career and we hate to see him leave.
2012 Fantasy Wrap Up
This has been a very exciting year in Fantasy Football. We have seen players like Robert Griffin III emerge into a star, Adrian Peterson's wonderful rushing, and others rise to the occasion. This was a great year and was exciting because of great players having great games. Next year in fantasy we will definitely taking a look at the RB position which will be more important than ever and discuss who to get. But don't think the entire fantasy season is over because we still have our Playoff Challenge for more details go to our blog.
Best Fantasy Defenses
The best defense in the NFL is the Bears. The Bears have had a great year in fantasy with Charles Tillman leading the way. They have averaged 13.5 points (ESPN) this year which beats the next closest average by 1.8 points held by the Broncos. The Broncos have averaged 11.7 points (ESPN) with Von Miller and the secondary taking control and scoring. So i look forward to seeing these two teams play in the playoffs and watch as their defenses are challenged.
